This hike is in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and lies partly within the Goat Rocks Wilderness. The southern portion of the hike is about ten miles north of Mount Adams. Part of the hike is on the Pacific Crest Trail. The hike begins in Walupt Lake campground, climbs gently to the ridge to the southwest, and makes a broad circle of the lake. It offers great views of Mt Adams, Mt Rainier, and the surrounding wilderness. Though long, this hike is not difficult. It passes through a number of mountain wildflower meadows, which were blooming in lupine when we were there.

Access to this loop trail is given by the Coleman Weed Patch Trail directions.
