Our Home

Deception Pass is about 60 miles north of Seattle, WA. Deception Pass Bridge is the northern portal to Whidbey Island. There are two ferries that run between Mukilteo/ Everett and Clinton/Port Townsend.

Oak Harbor. A Dutch community located nine miles south of “Deception Pass”. Mount Baker is seen in the far distance.

Joan and I both retired after 66 years of combined Government Service. Almost all of our careers at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station very near the city of Oak Harbor. This photo shows Naval Ocean Processing Facility in the foreground and a portion of the Air Station to the upper right. Mount Erie on Fidelgo Island is the highest point in the picture.

“676 Kennel Lane” - Our home is located about one mile south of Deception Pass or about eight miles north of Oak Harbor. As you can see you don’t have to “Dream of a White Christmas” here. The weather is generally moderate except for the occasional winter storm.

Mom and her baby… Some of the many critters that share their home with us. Our deer will eat just about anything green… but they mostly prefer my rose bushes.
