The Animals of Yellowstone

Did you ever think you would see so many buffalo that it would become, "oh, look, more bison, ho hum"?  The first crowd of bison were exciting, the second fun, and after that, been there, seen that. . .  I can't deny that seeing these lumbering giants (and their enormous poop -- I took a picture but decided you probably didn't want to see, or the picture of one depositing its fertilizer in the field) was exciting, especially this one lounging right by the road.  We took our pictures quickly, though, because he was huffing and switching his tail, and we had been warned that the bison charge and can sprint along at 30 mph!

We were disappointed not to see any elk or bear, but we did see moose, deer, coyote babies, pelicans, swans and eagles.  Wolves were reintroduced into the park in 1995, and we may have seen one sprinting across the highway, but we thought it was a coyote instead.
