              The Corporate/Bureaucratic Elite are Globalists

How well does it bode for our youth to grow up in a world where, increasingly, employers have operations in dozens of countries, and the largest employer (by far) is the Department of Defense?  Are we really making the world safe for democracy?  Or are we making it safe for transnationals?  The end of World War 2, when the US had new "superpower" status, began an onslaught of global governance institutions, including the United Nations, Marshall Plan, Bretton Woods (ie; World Bank and IMF) and GATT.  Was this the result of the voice of the people?  And how about the elite, round table groups which have since emerged, including the Bilderberg Group and The Trilateral Commission, where big business and heads of state meet to collaborate, with no accountability to the public whatsoever?  And what about The World Trade Organization and NAFTA?  Are these manifestations of popular government, or do they represent an end run around it?  How about the corporate bailouts or consolidating countries into "global superstates"(ie; "unions" ... as in Asia, Africa, Europe)?  Is it "we the people" who demanded this?   Are we the beneficiaries of globalization and liberalizing international trade?  Why would "we the people"wish to be involved in a "theater of war" which has "no end in sight"?   And who will pay the costs?  Who are the primary beneficiaries of this?  And who will pay the real costs?

Contrary to what some like to say, what's good for big business is not good for everybody else.  It's true the overclass provides various forms of anesthesia to keep the masses comfortable and relatively quiet, in different parts of the world, at different times, and to varying degrees.  Nonetheless, as a rule, the average Joe would find it a whole lot easier to be prosperous in the world if he were not paying taxes to a government that subsidized big business, squandered unfathomable sums on military, and set up every form of regulation to impede him, ie, prevent him from competing with big business.  News flash: regulation is not aimed at big business - contrary to the ostensible mission therein.  How could it be different?  No one else has any lobbying power to make it different!  Funny how big corporate America likes to tout competition and the free market ... but never mind the government subsidies, no bid contracts, bailouts, tax credits, sanctions and embargoes that ensure the dominance of select corporate activity.

The scope of the overclass is global - their assets, well diversified.  They have a better idea of what's coming (from their crony, secret meetings) and are always better prepared.  What currency are your assets denominated in?  Do you find it easy to access stocks that trade on foreign exchanges?  Does your company have subsidiaries in any tax friendly jurisdictions of the world, or enjoy exploiting slave labor around the globe?  Do you lobby Congress to erect regulations which are aimed at your competition?  Are you part of the inner sanctum that knows what parts of the world are to be developed next?  The BRIC countries, according to Goldmann Sachs,  "as a group will overtake the G7 in 2032", and India alone "will surpass the United States (in US$) by 2050." (1)  How will you make out during these shifts?  Was it the voice of the people that brought this on?  Or the corporate elite?

Historically, different parts of the world cycle through periods of prosperity followed by periods of difficulty, at different times.  They will say that the push for global governance is precisely what is needed to bring the entire world into a common rhythm and to ameliorate uncertainty of these inconvenient cycles.  We should no sooner accept this than the ridiculous notion that World War 1 would be "the war to end all wars", or that after World War 1, the purpose of the League of Nations was formed to prevent war from breaking out again.  Shouldn't we be skeptical when elite, round table consortiums profess to be aiming to prevent war, or, as David Rockefeller's Trilateral Commission was supposed to, bring "peace and prosperity"?  Uncertainty is going nowhere.  War is going nowhere.  They are both here to stay.  The question is, will we also have the ultimate power consolidation - that of global governance - to accompany and exacerbate them?

Though we still have it pretty good - what are the odds that our children and grandchildren will have the same?  What sort of legacy do we leave to our descendents if we coddle the mentality that the elite will do right by us?  Is it somehow desirable to be a society of care free, complacent, ignorant, self-indulgent dolts who bow to the slumlord leaders?  Do we worry about being ostercized if we make waves?  It would appear so.  But what’s worse- being a crack addict, or being ostercized for not being one?

Is it even close?
