Multiplication Worksheets
submitted by: Jeff LeMieux, August, 2003This narrative describes how I use my javascript tool, cataloged in the Math Tools digital library, in the classroom.
Course: Math 7
Topic: Operations with Numbers - Multiplication
Resource type: JavaScriptResource location:

http://mathforum.org/mathtools/tool.html?rc=tool&new_id=1593Story: Multiplication is a basic skill which occasionally requires a review session, and in some cases, an instructional session. The purpose of this script is to provide a source for worksheets to match student needs. While these sheets do not provide instruction, they are a vehicle for demonstraction, review and practice.
The format allows a degree of control to determine the length of multiplicands (5 digits) and multipliers (5 digits) and the number of problems (30 max). Answers are provided but must be copied and/or saved.
Please note that specifying a length means the number will contain that many digits as a maximum. There might be fewer.
Where and how I used this: Typically, this is used as a group review. An overhead master is printed from the web page and students direct the solution to the problems. They are handy for individual cases of remediation. They can be used to practice estimation.
