Making Equivalent Fractions - Method 2

Equivalent fractions are fractions which have the same value as another fraction - the numerals may be different. To make an equivalent fraction use a proportion.

Step 1: 2 = x 3 9

Step 2: 3x = 2•9

Step 3: 3x = 18

Step 4: 3x = 18 3 3

Step 5: x = 6
