Making Equivalent Fractions

Equivalent fractions are fractions which have the same value as another fraction - the numerals may be different. To make an equivalent fraction , you multiply the numerator (the top number) and the denominator (the bottom number) by the same numbers. These 'numbers' are really equal to 1 .

2 x 3 = 6
3   3   9
