The Student Understands the Problem The student tells how the problem was solved....... The student explains their reasons for solving the problem this way......

  • Picks out the right information to solve the problem
  • Explains all the math ideas with words, pictures and symbols

  • Uses pictures, graphs, charts, equations and/or algebra- type models to solve the problem.
  • Chooses math skills and ideas which solve the problem.
  • Math work, models, etc. are accurate.
  • The work is accurate and the solution answers the question(s).

  • Shows/tells how the problem was thought out.
  • The problem is set up and explained in a way that makes sense.
  • Paper is easy to read and understand.
