This is the format to use for solving perimeter problems.
  1. C = x d   (formula)
  2. C = 3.14 x 12 cm   (substitute values)
  3. C = 37.68 cm   (solve)
  1. P = S1 + S2 + S3 + S4 + C÷4    (formula)
  2. Solve for the unknowns...
    • (C = 2 x r) ÷ 4
      C = (2 x 3.14 x 10 units) ÷ 4
    • C = 15.7 un
    • x = (25-10) = 15 units
    • y = (25-10) = 15 units
  3. (substitute values + formula for the quarter part of the circle )
    P = 25 un + 25 un + 15 un + 15 un + 15.7 un   (finish substitutions)
  4. P = 95.7 units   (Solve)
