The National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) serves those who serve and have served the nation. NARFE is the only association dedicated to protecting the earned retirement benefits of federal employees, retirees and their survivors. NARFE's commitment is to secure the future that federal employees have worked to achieve for themselves and their families.

NARFE membership is nearly 500,000 federal workers, retirees, spouses and survivors united in a commitment to the economic security and well-being of federal employees on the job and in retirement.

NARFE is a multitiered organization governed by an elected leadership consisting of:

  • 1,740 Chapters
  • 50 State Federations plus Federations of the District of Columbia, the Philippines and Puerto Rico
  • 10 Regions
  • 1 National Headquarters

The North Cascades Chapter 196 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees’ Association (NARFE) shall:

  • PROTECT THE EARNED BENEFITS OF OUR MEMBERS AND COOPERATE WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO ASSURE EQUITY FOR RETIRED AND CURRENTLY EMPLOYED FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES.

  • OFFER PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGE ELIGIBLE INDIVDUALS TO JOIN AND NARFE MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR ASSOCIATION AND CHAPTER ACTIVTIES.

  • PROVIDE INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP SERVICES, EDUCATION, AND SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

  • EDUCATE ELECTED OFFICIALS, THE MEDIA, OUR MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC ABOUT NARFE, ITS PROGRAMS AND THE POSITIVE CONTRIBUTIONS OF OUR CHAPTER AND THE FEDERAL EMPLOYEES IN OUR COMMUNITIES.

As active and retired federal employees, we will continue to be a force for good in our communities through individual service, group contributions, public education about the important role federal employees play in society and as an open channel for public communications and understanding.
